Nice & Simple. What Does that Even Mean?

Nice & Simple. What Does that Even Mean?

I hear it all the time – “Your tagline is ‘nice and simple’, but what does that even mean?”

SIMPLE

When I was young I had a hockey coach that would always tell us to “keep it simple”. By simplifying the game of hockey, we were able to implement systems that ultimately made us successful. While I don’t get to play too much hockey these days, the sentiment of “keeping it simple” is still embedded in my brain.

Simplifying the process has always been a goal at Deerwood Bank, and I am proud to say that we have done, and continue to do a great job of releasing products and services that are easy to use, easy to understand, and easy to access. To sum it up, they’re simple 🙂

Whether it be our free checking accounts (and yes, I really mean free) or our fast and connected mortgage process, we continue to keep our customer experience top of mind. Our management team continues to strive for two things: efficiency and effectiveness. That’s what our customers deserve, and that’s what our customers are going to get.

Now I know that I have really been pumping our own tires as to how simple and easy our products are, but just wait… because now I am going to talk about that second part of our tagline – nice.

NICE

Nice is how we treat people – our community members, our customers, and our fellow employees. Recently I had the opportunity to visit each of our 13 offices and speak with employees to hear their thoughts on Deerwood Bank and how we can improve our operations. After speaking with almost 170 Deerwood team members, the #1 takeaway that I received was “I love working with our customers”. My #2 takeaway from the meeting: “I love the team here at Deerwood”.

Now to flip the script, if you were to ask any Deerwood customer what their favorite part of banking with Deerwood is, I can almost guarantee that they will talk about the great experiences they have with our staff. Relationship banking is a bit of a buzzword in our industry, but here at Deerwood it takes on a whole new meaning – it’s why we come to work everyday. The customer-to-employee relationship is something we crave.

There you have it… nice & simple. Now instead of answering all of the “What does nice & simple even mean?” questions from my contacts, I can just send out the link to this blog post. Making my life even more simple…
